For being a big Jim Carrey comedy fan, I wasn't expecting much with this one. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised when it was done. Carrey does a good job here. Wouldn't compare him to Robin Williams just yet, but maybe if he does some more serious dramatic work he might be good. As for the story, I am usually very good at predicting story lines and I will say the twist did get me at the end. Other people say its nothing but a little pop, but I think that little pop was just all it needed as opposed to a huge mind-f**k. Overall it's a good watch, and the bonus features on the disk are also very interesting to watch.

To me this movie is a 3 star simply because I cannot give it an impartial rating. The film seemed like a wine, with time it got better. In the beginning I was very close to just turning it off, but as it progressed it gained a lot back. The acting was par for this type of movie with a few characters being utterly annoying EX:the blond hatian dude who's accent made me want to cry. But this was evened out by the better actors. Overall I would say the film is watchable but wont be going back to it anytime soon. It had a lot of potential to be a great film but it just seemed like it was lacking in many areas.

Metropolis. Now I rented this expecting a good silent film. What I got when I watched it was utterly amazing. I had heard this was good but expected it to be from a relative view. This film for its time, and even for now is a fantastic feat. The acting was supurb (as far as silent acting goes) but what really gets you is the breadth of the film. The technicality of it was simply fantastic, the sets, the innovative cinematography, even down to the Lang's choice of turning the "worker" people into mechanical types was great. It is easy to see how every sci-fi movie takes something if not a good deal from this movie even if they don't realize it. Great watch, and will watch it many more times.

Excellent movie, Kirby Dick totally kills the MPAA. Film is very logical and well put together. Also a good laugh movie for the funny stuff that happens. Its a very intelligent movie and totally satisfies. I personally cannot stand the MPAA and this movie made me happy knowing that countless other filmmakers are angry with the evil organization we call the MPAA. anyway the film is a definite watch.
